Common customer complaints and solutions for solar LED street lights Oct 29 , 2022

Current Situation

1. SIGOLED has focused on producing solar LED street lights for several years. We have a stable self-developed research program in solar panels, lithium batteries, controllers, etc., and positive feedback for foreign and domestic engineering projects.

2. After installation, there are the following issues in some of our domestic markets.

(1) after lighting for one or two nights, the light does not light up.

(2) after using for a few days(one or two week), the lights out on 23:00 or 24:00.

(3) the light is completely out.


Common Customer Complaints and Solutions

Q1: The customer said: your company’s street lights are not enough capacity, not working in the midnight every day

A1: Customers need to confirm the location of installation and take photos.

For example: while installed under the eaves or wall pole, the solar panel can not face to the south, installed by the side of the tree or under the tree, or in other "poor sunlight absorption" situation, then there will be a lack of capacity, that is not the quality problems.

As shown in the following picture, the customer said our street light does not have enough capacity, in fact, the installation is not in the right position and direction.


Q2: The customer said: One of the lights is darker than the others in a few days. (it can be light, but darker than other lights, so the capacity is not enough).

A2: Because the lines of solar street lights are not regular two-core lines, they are (day/night sensing) returning lines, if you have the wrong connection, there will be a "street lamps can light, but very dark" situation.

As shown in the following picture, the wire is not connected to the correct slot position.


Q3: What's wrong with your lights? the light is out only a month after the installation.

Actual Case:

(1) Project A

Due to people issues, the line of one street light is cut by the village people while construction, and the constructors mistakenly thought that it is a quality problem.

(2)Project B

The customer took a picture, and it was not obvious what the problem was. When we went to the location the next day, we found that the solar panel had been taken away for unknown reasons.


A3: Our actual probability of customer complaints is less than five per thousand, which is caused by product quality currently. In general, we need to verify the actual situation, to know whether the installation is correct or not.


Q4: The customer said: I see that there is a  remote controller on the internet? Can you send me a remote controller to adjust it by myself?

A4:

1. For the standard series: 25W-45W-60W-98W-120W (belonging to the engineering series, the quality is better than the market goods), we don’t provide a remote controller.

2. If you want to the remote controller, we can sell it. But the program error and capacity problems caused by the remote controller, we do not have the responsibility of service.

3. For the above two answers, most of the customers may not understand, the reasons are as follows:

(1)In general, for small solar panels or shortage batteries, we will use induction or remote controller, so that customers will feel that they can "adjust" without any problem.

(2)Default brightness time setting for SIGOLED street lights is 11 hours, 4 hours of 100% brightness, 2 hours of 50% brightness, and 5 hours of 25% dim brightness, in that case, the lights can provide the brightness and power one night (in non-extreme weather), also can save power for the next night.

4.If customers must have a remote controller, we recommend choosing other products to instead, like - affordable solar powered LED floodlights, which all come with a remote controller.
